Legendary Pokémon are powerful, rare Pokémon that do not evolve. They cannot be caught in the wild, but are obtained through trade, bonus challenges or by defeating them in Raid battles.
Legendary Pokémon are sometimes confused with Mythical Pokémon. Like Legendary, Mythical Pokémon do not evolve, but unlike Legendary, they can only be obtained at special events or by using unique online codes.
In the video games Legendary Pokémon are highly sought after and there is often only one of each type. In the Trading Card Game they often feature strongly in their Generation Expansion Series. They are highly collectible and can fetch a good price.
Each Generation and Pokémon type has a small number of Legendary Pokémon. There are currently 70 including different forms. They are listed below in order of introduction.
