What are Hisuian Pokémon? Info & Complete List

There are currently 20 Hisuian Pokémon.

Hisuian Pokémon are Pokémon that take on a different form when they appear in Hisui. Hisui is the ancient name for Generation IV’s Sinnoh region and first appeared in the game Pokémon Legends Arceus. These Pokémon are special because their new form can use powers typically associated with Hisui. If a Hisuian Pokémon evolves its evolution will also be a Hisuian Pokémon.

What is the Hisui Region?

Hisui region

The Hisui Region is an ancient Pokémon region that later became known as Sinnoh when it was inhabited. Hisui features in the game Pokémon Legends Arceus which takes place in the ancient world. The image shows Mount Coronet, the highest mountain in the region and the place where, according to legend, the Sinnoh region began and where Arceus created Dialga, Palkia and Giratina.

Growlithe is a Generation I Pokémon that first appeared in 1996 with the launch of Pokémon Red and Blue in Japan. Growlithe is a Fire type Pokémon but Hisuian Growlithe is a Fire / Rock type Pokémon. Its Hisuian form patrol their territory in pairs. Hisuian Growlithe evolves to Hisuian Arcanine.

Arcanine is a Generation I Pokémon that first appeared in 1996 with the launch of Pokémon Red and Blue in Japan. It is a Fire type Pokémon that evolves from Growlithe. In Hisuian form it becomes a Fire / Rock type and it is much darker in colour. Hisuian Arcanine evolves from Hisuian Growlithe.

The Hisuian form is Electric / Grass type and is bigger than its regular form. It is also deeper in colour and evolves from Hisuian Voltorb.

Typhlosion is a Generation II Pokémon that is the final evolution of Cyndaquil. It first appeared in the games Pokémon Gold and Silver which released in 1999. It is a two-legged Fire type Pokémon that is able to create flames by rubbing its fur together. In Hisuian form the flames it creates are purple and magenta in colour. Hisuian Typhlosion is said to purify lost, forsaken souls with its flames and guide them to the afterlife.

Qwillfish is a Generation II Pokémon that first appeared in 1999 with the launch of Pokémon Gold and Silver. It is a Water / Poison type Pokémon and is predominantly green. As a Hisuian Pokémon, Qwillfish is smaller and coloured black, purple and cream. Hisuian Qwillfish is Dark / Poison type and evolves into Overqwil.

In normal form it is green and red in colour and evolves to Weavile and is a Dark / Ice type. Sneasel appears in Hisuian form in the Legends Arceus game where it is a Fighting / Poison type Pokémon. Hisuian Sneasel is grey and purple in colour and evolves to Sneasler.

Samurott is a Generation V Pokémon that first appeared in 2010 with the launch of Pokémon Black and White. It is the final evolution of Oshawott and is a Water type Pokémon. It is mainly blue with gold plates on its limbs, tail and head. In Hisuian form it is Water / Dark type and the plates on its body are now dark blue and red.

Lilligant is another Generation V Pokémon and evolves from Petilil. A Grass type, Lilligant is covered with green leaves that resemble a ballgown. In Hisuian form, the leaves are much thinner and its long legs are exposed making it resemble a ballet dancer. Hisuian Lilligant is a Grass / Fighting type.

Zorua is a Dark type Generation V Pokémon that evolves to Zoroark. It first appeared in 2010 in the games Pokémon Black and White. It is based on a fox and is grey and maroon in colour. In Hisuian form it is Normal / Ghost type and white in colour with red markings. Hisuian Zorua evolves to Hisuian Zoroark.

Zoroark first appeared in 2010 in the games Pokémon Black and White. Known as the Illusion Fox it is a Dark type and is dark grey and red in colour. In Hisuian form it is predominantly white in colour with red highlights in its fur. Hisuian Zoroark evolves from Hisuian Zorua.

Its colouring is lighter with white upper wings and tail.
