Gigantamax Pokémon Explained
Pokémon Gigantamax form was introduced in 2019 with the launch of the Sword and Shield games. It was revealed that certain Pokémon possess the Gigantamax Factor, indicated by a red X next to their name in the Pokédex. These special Pokémon can change to Gigantamax Form.

As the name suggests, Gigantamax Pokémon are huge often growing to more than 50 times their regular height. In addition, a Gigantamax Pokémon has an increased HP and their regular moves are replaced by G-Max Moves that inflict huge damage on an opponent.
Wild Pokémon that possess the Gigantamax Factor can only be caught in Max Raid Battles. In the Sword and Shield expansion, it was learned that certain Pokémon could acquire the Gigantamax Factor by being fed Max Soup made from Max Mushrooms.
How to change Pokémon into Gigantamax Form?
Early in the game, players are given a Dynamax Band by Professor Magnolia. This Dynamax Band has the power to enable Pokémon to grow during battle. Pokémon that possess the Gigantamax Factor will grow into Gigantamax Form. The Dynamax Band can only be used once during a battle and lasts for just three moves.
Which Pokémon can change to Gigantamax?
There are 33 Pokemon that can Gigantamax but only 32 Gigantamax forms since Flapple and Appletun have the same Gigantamax Form.
