There are currently 18 Alolan Pokémon.
Alolan Pokémon are Pokémon that take on a different form when they appear in the Alola region. Alola is the setting for the Generation VII Sun and Moon series. These Pokémon are special because they have adapted to the Alola region and can use powers typically associated with Alola. Alolan Pokémon that appear in later regions retain their Alolan form and powers.

What is the Alola Region?
The Alola Region is the setting for the Generation VII Sun and Moon series and is based on Hawaii. It is made up of five separate islands. Melemele Island, Akala Island, Ula’ula Island, and Poni Island are natural islands while Aether Paradise is an artificial island.

Rattata is a Generation I Pokémon that first appeared in 1996 with the launch of Pokémon Red and Blue in Japan. Rattata is a Normal type Pokémon but Alolan Rattata is a Dark / Normal type Pokémon. Its Alolan form uses its whiskers to whiskers to pick up the scent of hidden food and locate it instantly. Alolan Rattata evolve to Alolan Raticate.

Raticate is a Generation I Pokémon that first appeared in 1996 with the launch of Pokémon Red and Blue in Japan. It is a Normal type Pokémon that evolves from Rattata. In Alolan form it becomes a Dark / Normal type and it is much darker in colour. It makes its Rattata underlings gather food for it, dining solely on the most nutritious and delicious fare.

Raichu is a Generation I Electric type Pokémon that evolves from Pikachu. It first appeared in 1996 with the launch of Pokémon Red and Blue in Japan. The Alolan form is Electric / Psychic type and has more rounded features. It’s believed that the weather, climate, and food of the Alola region all play a part in causing Pikachu to evolve into this form of Raichu.

Generation I Sandshrew evolves to Sandslash and is a Ground type Pokémon. It first appeared in 1996 with the launch of Pokémon Red and Blue in Japan. The Alolan form is an Ice / Steel type and predominantly white in colour. Life on mountains covered with deep snow has granted this Pokémon a body of ice that’s as hard as steel.

Sandslash is a Generation I Pokémon that evolves from Sandshrew. It first appeared in 1996 with the launch of Pokémon Red and Blue in Japan. The Alolan form is an Ice / Steel type and blueish white in colour. It uses large, hooked claws to cut a path through deep snow as it runs. On snowy mountains, this Sandslash is faster than any other Pokémon.

Vulpix is a Generation I Pokémon that first appeared in 1996 with the launch of Pokémon Red and Blue in Japan. It is a Fire type Pokémon and orange in colour. As an Alolan Pokémon, Vulpix is an Ice type and is white in colour. It evolves into Ninetales. After long years in the ever-snowcapped mountains of Alola, this Vulpix has gained power over ice.

Meowth is another Generation I character. It is a normal type Pokémon and is cream in colour. In Alolan form it is a Dark type and is lilac in colour. It’s accustomed to luxury because it used to live with Alolan royalty. As a result, it’s very picky about food. Meowth evolves to Persian.

Persian evolves from Meowth and is a Generation I Pokémon. It is a Normal type cat and is cream in colour. In Alolan form it is a Dark type and is lilac in colour. The round face of Alolan Persian is considered to be a symbol of prosperity in the Alola region, so these Pokémon are very well cared for.
Geodude Pokédex Number 0074
Geodude first appeared in 1996 in the games Pokémon Red and Blue. It is a Rock / Ground type Pokémon and brown in colour. It evolves to Graveler and is the first evolution of Golem. In Alolan form it is grey and a Rock / Electric type. Its stone head is imbued with electricity and magnetism. If you carelessly step on one, you’ll be in for a painful shock.

Graveler is a Rock / Ground type Pokémon that evolves from Geodude. It is light brown in colour and evolves to Golem. In Alolan form it is a Rock / Electric type. When it comes rolling down a mountain path, anything in its way gets zapped by electricity and sent flying.

Golem is a Rock / Ground type Pokémon that is the final evolution of Geodude. It is light and dark brown in colour. In Alolan form it is a Rock / Electric type. It uses magnetism to accelerate and fire off rocks tinged with electricity. Even if it doesn’t score a direct hit, the jolt of electricity will do the job.

Grimer is a purple Generation I Pokémon that first appeared in 1996 with the release of Pokémon Red and Blue. It is a Poison type that evolves to Muk. In Alolan form it is Green and a Poison / Dark type. It has a passion for trash above all else, speedily digesting it and creating brilliant crystals of sparkling poison.

Muk is a Generation I Pokémon that evolves from Grimer. It is a Poison type and purple in colour. In Alolan form it is multi coloured and a Poison / Dark type. Muk’s coloration becomes increasingly vivid the more it feasts on its favorite dish—trash.
