9. M Charizard 108/106 – XY Flashfire 2014
The XY Series introduced Mega evolutions that changed the Pokémon’s type as well as its form. Mega cards, and especially M Charizard EX cards remain a popular choice for collectors. However, these cards are among the most forged Pokémon cards so care must be taken to ensure that the card is not a fake Pokémon card.

7. Charizard GX SV49/SV94 – SM Hidden Fates 2019
Shiny cards have always been popular with collectors and the Hidden Fates set from Sun and Moon was highly anticipated for the fact it included a Shiny Vault of 94 cards. The fact that this card features a Shiny Charizard is enough to make it a chase card. Charizard, in blue red and cream, is depicted as though he is about to take off and fly away.

4. Charizard 146/144 – Skyridge 2003
This card, from the Skyridge set is an e-card. It features distinctive markings on the sides that could be read by an e-reader which in turn was attached to the Game Boy Advance. 3. Charizard SWSH066 – Sword and Shield Promo Card (stamped STAFF)
This Charizard Black Star Promo Card makes the list due to its rarity. Released in 2020, prior to the launch of the Vivid Voltage expansion set this card is stamped with the Vivid Voltage logo and also the word STAFF. It was given to staff and volunteers at Vivid Voltage pre-release events. It makes the list of Charizard Chase Cards due to its limited supply.

2. Charizard 107/105 – Neo Destiny 2002
The simplicity of the artwork on this card, which depicts Charizard in silhouette against a back drop of stylised buildings, gives it a unique appeal. Add in the fact that it is Shining Charizard and its no surprise that this is a popular Charizard Chase card.

1. Charizard 4/102 – Pokémon Base Set 1999
The first international language Pokémon set was released in 1999 sparking a hobby that has stood the test of time. The original holographic Charizard has been reprinted many times over the years to allow fans to own a version of this unique card. The most valuable of the Base Set Charizard Chase cards are the first edition cards. These are followed by subsequent prints of the base set in 1999. This card makes the top spot in our Charizard Chase Cards list because it is a card that everyone would love to own.
In October 2022, a first edition card PSA 9 was sold at auction for £24,000 ($28,000).
