What are the Scarlet and Violet 151 Mini Tins?
The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet 151 Mini Tins collection released on 6th October 2023. There are ten different tins and each will retail for £9.99 in the UK and $9.99 in the US.
There are 10 different tins to collect each depicting two Pokémon from the 151 Generation I characters:
Arcanine and Omanyte, Dragonite and Vileplume, Electabuzz and Magnemite, Gengar and Poliwag, Kadabra and Hitmonlee, Machamp and Cubone, Magneton and Ekans, Meowth and Hitmonchan, Scyther and Weezing, Slowpoke and Sandshrew.
Unlike regular Mini Tins, the artwork for this special set does not fit together to create a scene.
The Manufacturer’s Recommended Selling Price is £9.99 in the UK and $9.99 in the US.
The sturdy metal mini tins are pocket-sized, measuring 7.6 x 12.4 x 2.5 cm (3 x 5 x 1 in).
What’s in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet 151 Mini Tins?
The contents of the tins has been released. Each tin will contain:
2 Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet 151 booster packs
1 coin featuring one of 10 Basic Energy designs
A card showing the art from the art on the front of the tin
Are the Scarlet and Violet 151 Mini Tins good value for money?
Each tin contains 2 Scarlet and Violet Booster packs. Individual Scarlet and Violet 151 booster packs are available for around £4.50 in the UK and $4.50 in the US. The coins are unique to this set and therefore highly collectible. They could fetch around £1 / $1 at auction, more if there is a complete set. In addition, empty mini tins are often sought after by collectors and could sell for upwards of £1 / $1 each.
Two Scarlet and Violet Booster packs would therefore cost £9 / $9. Adding the expected value of the coins and empty tin and card takes the total to £11 or $11 which is higher than the retail price in the UK and the US. The Scarlet and Violet Mini Tins are therefore good value for money.
