Sandslash Pokédex Information
Sandslash is a Ground type Pokémon that first appeared in the games Pokémon Red and Blue which released in Japan on 12th September 1999. It evolves from Sandshrew.
Sandslash is a two-legged Pokémon that bears a resemblance to a mouse and a pangolin. It has a yellow body and limbs with a cream coloured stomach. It has two very long claws on each arm and foot. On its head are three yellow spikes while its back is covered with brown spikes. Its two big, black eyes sit either side of its nose. The drier the area Sandslash lives in, the harder and smoother the Pokémon’s spikes will feel when touched.
When it appears in the Alola region it takes on a different form. Alolan Sandslash is an Ice / Steel type Pokémon and is bigger and heavier than its regular counterpart. Its body and limbs are blue with a white stomach and its claws are purple. It has a huge pointed ice crystal on the top of its head while smaller ice crystals run along its back. It uses large, hooked claws to cut a path through deep snow as it runs. On snowy mountains, this Sandslash is faster than any other Pokémon.
