What are V Power Tins?
The Sword and Shield series was launched in February 2020. The new series saw Pokémon GX and EX power replaced by V and VMAX.
The V Power Tins Collection was released in September 2020. There are three different tins featuring three popular V power characters – Eevee, Eternatus and Pikachu. Each tin is individually sealed.
What is inside each Tin?
First, the plastic shrink-wrap needs to be carefully removed to avoid scratching the artwork on the outside of the tin. Once it has been done, the lid of the tin can be removed to reveal a black star promo card for that tin’s character.
The promo card was not very well secured by its housing and had been slightly damaged in transit. There were complaints about the way these cards were presented and the Spring V Tins released in Spring 2021 have a better design that holds the cards securely.
underneath the promo card is an online code card for that character.
The Pikachu V card is numbered SWSH063, Eternatus V is SWSH 064 and Eevee V is SWSH 065. The cards currently sell for around £2.70.
The top plastic casing lifts out to reveal 4 sealed booster packs. The booster packs are the same in each tin – 1 x Sun and Moon Base, 1 x Sword and Shield Base set and 2 x Darkness Ablaze.
We opened three tins, one of each design and the pull rate was the same for each tin. The Sun and Moon Base and the Sword and Shield Base Booster packs had green code cards and contained no art or holo cards. One of the two Darkness Ablaze Booster packs in each tin had a white code card and contained an art or holo card.
