The Pokémon Temporal Forces release date has been announced and will release Worldwide on 22nd March 2024. Temporal Forces is the fifth main expansion set of the Generation IX Series and is designated SV05.
What do we know so far about Pokémon Temporal Forces?
This upcoming set will include cards from the Japanese sets Wild Forces and Cyber Judge and sees a return of Ace Spec cards to the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the were previously used in the Black and White Series.
It will contain more than 160 cards including:
Seven ACE SPEC Trainer and Special Energy cards
13 Pokémon ex and two Tera Pokémon ex
22 illustration rare Pokémon
10 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
Six hyper rare gold etched cards
Cards will be numbered – ???/162
All cards will be marked with the set symbol

Pokémon Temporal Forces Pack Art
The artwork for the set Booster Packs has been revealed. There are 4 different designs featuring Paradox Pokémon – Iron Crown, Iron Leaves, Raging Bolt and Walking Wake.
Will the Ancient and Future Mechanic continue in Temporal Forces?
The Ancient and Future mechanics launched in November 2023 with the release of the expansion set Paradox Rift. These new Paradox Pokémon are ancient and futuristic versions of existing Pokémon.
Although not officially confirmed, Promo Cards from the Elite Trainer Boxes are stamped with Ancient or Future depending on their type, so it is expected that this will continue.
Additionally Ancient cards will feature the lines of sedimentary rock across half of the text part of regular cards, while Future cards will feature a digital code of red and blue squares on a black background in the same position.
The Return of Ace Spec Cards
Pokémon Ace Spec cards are Trainer Item cards that have unique, special effects that are beneficial to the player of those cards. These effects range from drawing extra cards, to recovering Pokémon from the discard pile, to granting immunity to certain effects. As with any new mechanic the return of these cards will introduce new strategies into the Trading Card Game (TCG).
