What is the Scarlet & Violet Paldea Collection?
The Scarlet & Violet Paldea Collection Boxes are the first Pokémon TCG products to be released for the Scarlet & Violet expansion series. They released on 6th January 2023.
The Paldea Collection comprises six collection boxes each featuring one of the starter Pokémon for Generation IX plus either Koraidon ex or Miraidon ex. So, the six boxes will be: Sprigatito with Moraidon, Sprigatito with Koraidon, Fuecoco with Moraidon, Fuecoco with Koraidon, Quaxly with Moraidon and Quaxly with Koraidon.
The box artwork reflects the type of each character. Sprigatito is a grass-type Pokémon based on a cat and its box is predominantly green with sprinkler type patterns in colours of the rainbow. Fuecoco is a fire-type based on a baby crocodile and has a box that is mainly red with the same rainbow coloured patterns. The Quaxly Paldea Collection Box is blue, reflecting its water-type characteristics with the same patterns as the other boxes.
The dimensions of the product have not been released but it is likely to be a similar size to the collection boxes of the Sword and Shield series. The boxes will retail at £19.99 in the UK and $19.99 in the US.
What is in the Paldea Collection Boxes?
The contents of the boxes have been released and each box will contain:
1 foil card featuring Sprigatito, Fuecoco or Quaxly
2 cards from Scarlet and Violet Base Set featuring Sprigatito 013/198, Fuecoco 036/198, or Quaxly 052/198
1 foil oversize card featuring Koraidon ex or Miraidon ex – this will be a beta version with no HP, Stage or Type markings
1 collector’s pin featuring Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly
4 Pokémon TCG booster packs (from the images released these will be Sword and Shield packs)
A code card usable in either the Pokémon TCG Online or Pokémon TCG Live
