The Pokémon Destined Rivals expansion has been officially revealed with a release date of 30th May 2025. It is the tenth expansion set of the Generation IX Series and is designated SV10.
What do we know so far about Destined Rivals?
This eagerly anticipated set will see the return of Team Rocket, first introduced to the TCG in the Team Rocket set of 2000.
Destined Rivals will include cards released in the Japanese set Glory of Team Rocket
The set description states:
Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals will see the return of the popular Trainer’s Pokémon mechanic, but with a twist, introducing the infamous Team Rocket — a villainous organisation in the Pokémon world — into the mix. Players can choose their allegiance by joining forces with heroic duos like Ethan and Ho-Oh ex or Cynthia and Garchomp ex, or they can embrace mischievous adventure by teaming up with Team Rocket and their Pokémon, such as Mewtwo ex, under Giovanni’s command.
In addition, players can discover the distinctive artwork of new Trainer’s Pokémon cards, showcasing the special bond shared between a skilled Pokémon Trainer and their Pokémon, with each card featuring the Trainer’s name.
Destined Rivals will contain more than 240 cards including:

Will Destined Rivals include Owner’s Pokémon?
Owner’s Pokémon saw a return to the TCG with the release of the Journey Together set which released on 28th March 2025. They will definitely feature in this set with Misty’s Psyduck, Ethan’s Typhlosion, Cynthia’s Garchomp and Arven’s Mabostiff being confirmed cards. The set will also include cards featuring Team Rocket’s Pokémon.
