What are Pokémon Cards with Crocheted Art?
Pokémon Cards with crocheted art are the work of Asako Ito, a Japanese artist that specialises in Amigurumi (crocheted or knitted stuffed toys). The crocheted Pokémon are then set against a crafted background and photographed. Despite the unique artwork, not to mention the time that must go into the creation of these cards, few people are aware of their existence.
Although the artwork is what draws many people to the Pokémon TCG, their interest tends to be mainly in the Chase Cards – the Full Art, Ultra or Secret Rare cards with stunning images of favourite characters. Videos of Pack-Openings tend to race through the bulk cards and focus on the Art Cards.
Yet, many Common, Uncommon and Non-Holo Rare cards also have great artwork. Indeed, the majority of Asako Ito’s Pokémon Cards with crocheted art are Common Cards and among those that are frequently discarded without a second glance.
Asako Ito produced her first crocheted art card for the Sun and Moon Base Set in 2017 aand has been producing them ever since. Detailed below is a complete list of Asako Ito Pokémon Cards with crocheted art.
