What is the Annihilape ex Box?
The Annihilape ex Box is the third Collection box to be released in the Scarlet and Violet Series. This third box in the series sees a change to the previous box and contents format. It has a retail price of £23.99 in the UK and $21.99 in the US.
The Annihilape ex Box released on 14th July 2023, which is midway between the release of Paldea Evolved and Obsidian Flames.
The released image of the box shows a change from the rectangular format of earlier ex boxes and the V boxes of the Sword and Shield series to a squarer format. The box dimensions have not been released but given that a Pokémon card is 6.3 cm wide we can assume the box is around 20cm by 20cm (8in by 8 in).
The artwork for the box features an orange / purple design which reflects Annihilape’s Fighting / Ghost type. Annihilape is featured in the bottom left hand corner.
The recommended retail price is £23.99 in the UK and $21.99 in the US.
What are the contents of the Annihilape ex Box?
The contents of the box have been revealed and in a change from previous boxes, there is no Jumbo card. The contents of the box are:
1 Annihilape ex Promo card SVP032
1 Primeape card 107/193
1 Mankey card 106/193
an online code card
4 Booster Packs
Is the Annihilape ex Collection Box good value for money?
The box contains one Black Star Promo Card, a Primeape and Mankey Card from Paldea Evolved and 4 Booster packs. Individual booster packs generally retail for around £4 in the UK and $4 in the US. An Annihilape Promo card is likely to cost around £3.50 $3.50 while the 2 Paldea Evolved cards can be purchased for around £1 or $1..
Four Booster packs would therefore cost £16 ($16) adding the value of the three cards takes the total to around £21.50 or $21.50 which is less than the recommended retail price of the box. It is therefore not particularly good value for money.
