Lapras Pokédex Information
Lapras is a Water / Ice type Pokémon that first appeared in the games Pokémon Red and Blue which released in Japan on 12th September 1999. It does not evolve.
Lapras is a large marine Pokémon that is believed to be based on the plesiosaur dinosaur. It is predominantly blue with a cream underbelly. It has a rounded body with a pair of flippers on each side. Its body is oval in shape and ends with a point at the back. On the side is a grey, shield-like shell that has a number of cylindrical protrusions. It has a very long neck which supports its head. On each side of its head is an ear and a small horn protrudes from its forehead. It loves crossing the sea with people and Pokémon on its back. It understands human speech.
In Gigantamax form it is much bigger and heavier. Its shell now covers its back and resembles a ship. It is outlined in red and three red clouds sit above its shell. Over 5,000 people can ride on its shell at once. And it’s a very comfortable ride, without the slightest shaking or swaying.
