What are Holon Energy FF Cards?

Holon Energy FF Cards are Special Energy Cards that are used in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). The FF refers to Fire and Fighting Energy as these cards provide special effects when combined with Fire or Fighting Energy. They were first introduced in 2005 with the launch of the EX Deoxys expansion set and last seen in the EX Dragon Frontiers set of 2006. Holon Energy FF cards were released alongside Holon Energy GL and Holon Energy WP Cards.

Holon Energy FF cards provide one Colorless Energy. However if the Pokémon already has a Fire Energy attached, then it has no weakness. If the Pokémon already has a Fighting Energy attached, then any damage done is not affected by Resistance. There is only one design for this card and it includes the Colorless Energy symbol. In the Pokémon TCG, a player can only use an Attack Move if the specified number of Energy are attached. This specified number generally includes one or more Energy that corresponds to the Pokémon type, and / or a number of Colorless Energy. Holon Energy FF Cards provide one Colorless Energy.

The text on the cards reads:

‘Holon Energy FF provides Colorless Energy.
If the Pokémon that Holon Energy FF is attached to also has a basic Energy card attached to it, that Pokémon has no Weakness. If the Pokémon that Holon Energy FF is attached to also has a basic Energy card attached to it, damage done by that Pokémon’s attack isn’t affected by Resistance. Ignore these effects if Holon Energy FF is attached to Pokémon-ex.’
