Gyarados Pokédex Information
Gyarados is a Water / Flying type Pokémon that first appeared in the games Pokémon Red and Blue which released in Japan on 12th September 1999. It evolves from Magikarp.
Gyarados is a very long Pokémon that appears to be based on a Chinese dragon. It has a segmented body with the upper part blue with cream markings and the underside cream in colour. The segments taper further away from its head and end with a fan shaped tail. Along its back are a number of three-pronged grey spikes. Its head is blue with a large mouth and two wings on either side. Once it appears, it goes on a rampage and remains enraged until it demolishes everything around it.
It can evolve to Mega form with Gyaradosite. In this form it is a Water / Dark type Pokémon. It remains the same length but is heavier. The cream markings on its body have become red, there is a red stripe on each side of its body and its underbelly is black. There are now just two three-pronged spikes at the lower end of its back and these are now yellow. The spikes on its upper back have developed into a large yellow and blue winged structure. Although it obeys its instinctive drive to destroy everything within its reach, it will respond to orders from a Trainer it truly trusts.
