Although there have been many design changes over the years, Fighting Energy Cards are always predominantly brown and always feature the Fighting symbol of a black fist on a brown circle. (Scroll to bottom for timeline and gallery of all designs to date).
Fighting Energy corresponds to Fighting, Rock and Ground type Pokémon and their cards always include the Fighting Energy symbol in the top right hand corner. In order to use an Attack Move of a Fighting Energy type Pokémon, the player will need to attach the specified number of Fighting and/or Colorless Energy Cards. The numbers required are indicated by the symbols to the left of the Attack Move.
A Fighting Energy Card can also be used when the Colorless Energy symbol appears because Colorless Energy can be any type of Energy.
The Sandaconda VMAX card from Chilling Reign has two Attacks. To use Sand Pulse the player must attach one Fighting Energy. To use G-Max Cyclone two Fighting and one Colorless Energy are required.
Timeline of Fighting Energy Cards:
To date there have been 18 different designs of Fighting Energy Cards. Energy Cards were given numbers up to the release of the Sun and Moon series in 2017. The only Basic Energy cards to be given numbers from 2017 onwards are those that are released as Secret Rares.
