Cloyster Pokédex Information
Cloyster is a Water / Ice type Pokémon that first appeared in the games Pokémon Red and Blue which released in Japan on 12th September 1999. It evolves from Shellder.
Cloyster is based on bi-valve molluscs such as clams and oysters, both of which produce pearls. Its head sits at the centre of two outer casings and resembles a black pearl. It has two half-moon eyes and a wide mouth with white teeth. The inner casing is grey with a large spike at the top. The outer layer is pale purple and is covered with bumps and spikes. Two large spikes sit either side of the top of the outer layer. Cloyster that live in seas with harsh tidal currents grow large, sharp spikes on their shells.
