Blastoise and Venusaur VMAX Battle Boxes

What are the Blastoise and Venusaur VMAX Battle Boxes?

Blastoise and Venusaur VMAX Boxes

The V and VMAX speciality forms were first introduced with the launch of the Sword and Shield series in the Spring of 2020.

As with all expansion sets, Pokémon have released a number of collectable boxes and tins.

These two new VMAX Battle Boxes were released on 19th March 2021 as part of the main Battle Styles release. However, due to supply problems caused by excessive demand for sealed products, few stockists had the product on launch date. Additionally, many products had sold out on presale which meant these boxes did not become readily available until April or May 2021.

Blastoise and Venusaur are both third evolutions of first generation Pokémon and are highly collectible. Venusaur is a grass-type Pokémon while Blastoise is a water-type. The colour designs reflect these types with green for the Venusaur box and blue for the Blastoise.

What is in the Boxes?

The boxes are not shrink-wrapped but the cardboard outer packaging is very well sealed.

After unsealing the side of the boxes the contents can be slid out. They are housed in a clear plastic tray and protected with a clear plastic cover.

Both sets have similar contents:

A jumbo-sized and a regular-sized VMAX card (SWSH102 for Venusaur, SWSH103 for Blastoise)
A set of 65 card sleeves depicting the featured character for that box
An online code card
4 booster packs – 2 x Battle Styles, 1 x Darkness Ablaze and 1 x Sun and Moon Base Set
