Arcanine Pokédex Information
Arcanine is a Fire type Pokémon that first appeared in the games Pokémon Red and Blue which released in Japan on 12th September 1999. It evolves from Growlithe.
Arcanine is a four-legged Pokémon that is based on a Japanese mythical creature that resembles a lion and a dog. It is orange with black markings and has shaggy cream fur around its legs, chest and head, which is completely covered apart from a small section where its eyes are visible. It has a bushy tail of shaggy cream fur. An ancient picture scroll shows that people were captivated by its movement as it ran through prairies.
When it appears in Hisui it takes on a different form. Hisuian Arcanine is a Fire / Rock type. It is red with dark grey markings and long curly grey fur around its ankles. The fur on its head is long and curly and has flashes of red. It also has a long, thick grey tail. Snaps at its foes with fangs cloaked in blazing flame. Despite its bulk, it deftly feints every which way, leading opponents on a deceptively merry chase as it all but dances around them.
